Maine Metal Buildings recently completed a custom agricultural metal building for Fiasco Farm, located at 350 Turkey Lane in Buxton, Maine. This project was designed to support farm operations while prioritizing energy efficiency, long-term durability, and future-ready features like solar integration.

Project Overview

This build features a 42’ x 72’ Corle metal building system, totaling 3,024 square feet, with Maine Metal Buildings handling the full supply and installation. From structural height to insulation performance, every detail was selected to meet the demands of a working farm in Maine’s climate.

Project Specifications:

Added collateral load capacity for future solar panels

42’ x 72’ Corle metal building system (3,024 sq. ft.)

Full supply and installation

23’ eave height

Standing seam Lok roof system

4/12 roof pitch

2’ roof extensions with soffits

2’ overhangs on all sides

R-36 Energy Saver insulation in the roof

R-25 insulation in the walls

26-gauge PBR exposed fastener wall panels

Structural transition at 16’ to accept roof line tie-in

3 overhead door openings

15 window openings for natural light

Built for Modern Agricultural Use

With a 23-foot eave height, this structure provides the vertical clearance needed for equipment storage, livestock operations, or future interior build-outs. Multiple overhead doors allow for efficient movement of machinery, while 15 window openings bring in ample natural light—reducing daytime energy use and creating a more functional interior workspace.

Energy Efficient and Solar-Ready

Energy performance was a major focus of this project. High-efficiency insulation—R-36 in the roof and R-25 in the walls—helps regulate interior temperatures year-round. The standing seam Lok roof system not only improves weather resistance but also supports the added collateral load designed to accommodate future solar panel installation.

Designed for Maine Conditions

From snow load considerations to moisture control, this building was engineered to perform in Maine’s rural environment. The 4/12 pitch roof, extended overhangs, and soffits improve drainage, ventilation, and overall building longevity—while the Corle metal building system ensures strength with minimal maintenance over time.

A Versatile Farm Building Solution

This project at Fiasco Farm showcases how metal buildings can be tailored for agricultural use while remaining adaptable for future needs. Whether it’s equipment storage, processing space, or renewable energy integration, this structure is built to evolve with the operation.

If you’re planning a farm, agricultural, or multi-use metal building in Maine, Maine Metal Buildings delivers custom-built solutions designed for performance, efficiency, and long-term value.
