Sassy Strides in Lisbon, Maine

Maine Metal Buildings recently completed a large-scale agricultural metal building for Sassy Strides, located at 11 Deschene Avenue in Lisbon, Maine. This project was designed to support equestrian operations with an emphasis on interior space, ventilation, energy efficiency, and long-term durability.

Project Overview

This project features a 105’ 4” x 200’ Corle metal building system, totaling 21,000 square feet. The structure was engineered with a high eave height and wide clear spans to accommodate livestock, equipment, and flexible interior layouts.

Built for Equestrian and Agricultural Use

With over 21,000 square feet of interior space and a 21-foot eave height, this building provides the clearance and openness required for equestrian facilities, including riding areas, stall layouts, and equipment storage. Multiple overhead doors allow for efficient access, while the wide footprint supports future interior customization.

Ventilation, Light, and Comfort

Ventilation was a key design focus for this project. The combination of cupolas, louver openings, and window placements promotes consistent airflow and natural light—critical for maintaining a healthy environment for animals and occupants alike.

High-performance insulation (R-38 roof and R-25 walls) helps regulate interior temperatures, improving comfort year-round and reducing energy demands.

Durable Design for Maine Conditions

The standing seam roof system and 2/12 pitch were selected to provide reliable weather protection while maintaining a clean, modern profile. Full-height linear panels give the exterior a refined, uniform appearance while delivering long-term durability in Maine’s variable climate.
